Gamers now have a better understanding of what to expect in the upcoming third-person RPG shooter Outriders, and the game may very well compete with heavy-hitters like Destiny.
A more detailed look at character classes and powers, the world and narrative, as well as the depth and customization of the roleplaying game have all been shared.
When watching the Outriders footage, be aware that it’s a mix of gameplay, cinematics, and game-engine capture, so it’s not representative of the final product.
In the shooter, play as Pyromancers, Tricksters, and Devastators. Each altered soldier has their own way of influencing the fight on the battlefield. Control fire, earth, or even time and space as you travel across Enoch.
Enoch, the planet at the center of the Outriders story, was supposed to a fresh start for humanity. But a mysterious Signal and the body-altering dangers of the Anomaly changed the fate of the Outriders. After a 30-year slumber, the Outriders awake to find a very different world, full of beasts affected by the Anomaly, and a humanity that was never able to colonize Enoch.
And the Signal still calls.
The remnants of humanity on Enoch are scavengers and survivors. Technology and weaponry is scarce, so Outriders will have to be resourceful. But the planet’s beasts are not the only dangers that lurk in the shadows. Others have consumed the power of the Anomaly, and they suffered a worse fate than the Outriders. These corrupted souls will be obstacles on the path to the Signal.
From everything released so far, Outriders looks like an exciting third-person shooter. It could be the next Destiny. It could be a massive release and another success for developer People Can Fly.
