Additional Characters Added To The Leader Pass DLC for CIVILIZATION VI

Developer Firaxis Games final update for The Leader Pass DLC for Civilization VI came out in November, however part of the DLC is a slow release of 6 different mini DLCs over time until March. As part of that, the Great Commander DLC has just been released for anyone who has purchased the Leader Pass. Also, the Leader Pass will be free for existing owners of the Civilization VI Anthology Edition on Steam, for anyone unaware.

The Great Commander Pack contains three new leaders for existing empires, Tokugawa (Japan), Nader Shah (Persia), and Suleiman the Magnificent (Ottoman Empire). In general, the consensus for the leaders is that Tokugawa is overpowered (OP), one of his unique features is that, in the base game he gets: International Trade Routes receive -25% Yield and Tourism, but Domestic Trade Routes provide +1 Culture, +1 Science, and +2 Gold for every Specialty District at the Destination. This ability alone makes him an S Tier Civ. In regard to the other two leaders, Nader Shah is pretty bland, almost terrible, and Suleiman is acceptable with his +15% Science and Culture when in a Golden Age ability.

Overall the leaders in this pack are mostly interesting, but as always, most of the time Civilization VI players would really prefer Firaxis just to fix the many bugs or exploits STILL in the game 6 years after release. Heck, most dedicated Civilization VI players I know would pay for DLC to fix bugs and exploits by this point. We all know stable netcode is a fool’s dream, however.

Civilization VI is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Android, Xbox One, and PC via Microsoft Windows, iOS, Linux, orMac operating systems.
