BLIZZARD Apologises to AUSTRALIA For Cultural Insensitivity in New OVERWATCH Map

For those of you not in the know, Blizzard recently created a Junkertown Map for Overwatch that is based on Australia. Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan has taken to Reddit to profusely apologise for what they had done. Apparently the latest map has the whole of Australia in an uproar. In America and other parts of the world, they say 'Take-out' as displayed in the image below. In Australia however, they say 'Take-Away'.

I'd like to offer a direct apology to the entire country of Australia. Please forgive our cultural insensitivity. We will fix this in an upcoming patch (the sign travesty will most likely go live for some period before being fixed). I've also been told by Muselk that our coffees are too large as well. We're learning... trying, over here...

In probably what is a more serious issue, in the trailer for the map there is a voice-over that states 'they thought they could take our land and give it to the machines', causing a rather big concern that this relates to the history of the indigenous people in Australia. Nothing has been said on whether that will be fixed, but you may spot the wrongful 'Take-Out' sign until the patch replaces it.

How do you feel about this matter? Do you feel it warrants a new patch? Join the voices of Reddit and let us know.
