Free League Publishing just announced that the expansion for their hit Table Top Role-Playing Game (TTRPG) from 2011 The One Ring will be launching on October 25th! The One Ring: Ruins of the Lost Realm centers around Tolkien's world of Middle Earth just as the base version of the TTRPG does. The expansion will feature the lonely lands of Eriador and a city where once some Dúnedain once lived, but is now no more than a ruin waiting for adventure.
The chance to dive into the world of Middle Earth once again calls to those adventures who have traveled there before as well as those worthy souls who’ve yet to set foot on the lands of Middle Earth.
Chapter 1 of the expansion will describe the regions that once were part of the kingdom of Arnor, with a focus on the city of Tharbad.
Chapter 2 will provide the Dungeon Master (DM) with narrative elements designed to build a possible future for the land of Eriador, including the description of looming threats, Non-Playable Characters (NPCs), and their agendas.
Chapter 3 will add 12 historical sites not previously present in the core volume. Some sites will be pulled from Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, but others will be original creations for the setting.
For any who wish to pre-order the detailed and illustrated 120-page hardcover volume, the PDF version of The One Ring: Ruins of the Lost Realm will be available straight away as soon as you order.
