Ubisoft’s extreme sports multiplayer playground extravaganza, Riders Republic finally has some more gameplay shown off! This deep dive trailer debuted at the Ubisoft Forward conference yesterday and there’s a lot to unpack. I’d definitely give the video a look-see but I’ll talk about some of the main takeaways though to give you a general idea.
Firstly, they show off the game’s main hub area called Riders Ridge, this will be the place where players can interact together. You’ll also be able to manage your career, learn tricks, shop for clothing items, upload creations to the community, and take part in challenges.
The trailer also showed off a ton of awesome-looking gameplay. There are elements taken from all kinds of different sports games. Most notably, a snowboarding challenge that looks very reminiscent of a Tony Hawk game which is pretty cool. There are tons of different kinds of sports equipment you can use that each has its own events to take part in. There are bikes, snowboards, wingsuits, and jetpacks just to name a few.
The game also allows you to roam around freely alone or with friends which is great especially because the world(s) look huge. As far as traversal goes, there are all kinds of tracks and trails for players to embark on from dangerous ridges to simple man-made tracks akin to the Olympics. Plus there are Mass Races which will allow up to 64 players to take part in!
It’s an awesome-looking game and I’m glad that there’s something like this being made these days. This looks like the perfect game to just relax with and get a chance to turn off your brain. Just good old-fashioned fun.
Riders Republic launches on September 2nd for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, and Luna. There’s also a sign-up page for the game’s beta so go ahead and sign-up now! Stay tuned for more of our coverage from E3!
