Dark Pixel Fantasy Game BLEAK SWORD DX Reaches New Platforms

Devolver Digital has announced that more8bit's new remake, Bleak Sword DX, will touch down on PC and Nintendo Switch on June 8th.

Bleak Sword DX is an extended version of the iOS title Bleak Sword, and retains the content of the original, with the addition of three new gameplay modes and sizable overhauls to the gameplay and visuals. The game takes place in an oppressive medieval world, rendered in black, white, and red pixels. The player's tiny hero character journeys with a sword in hand through lo-fi renditions of swamps, woods, ruins, and burning villages.

While the environments may be simple, the combat has the depth of dodges, parries, and the need to carefully monitor an opponent's moves to stay one step ahead. Of course, the little protagonist is not alone in these cursed lands and faces a whole host of horrible enemies.

Bleak Sword DX comes with all of the original game's DLC chapters and brings new experiences to the table. There's Randomizer Mode, which switches up placements all over the game world. Boss Rush lines up the game's most dangerous foes for a marathon battle. Arena Mode drops the player into a gladiator-style ring with increasingly deadly enemies to deal with.

Bleak Sword DX is set to release June 8th on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
