The GameTyrant Expo has officially been granted S-Tier status by Panda Global Rankings making it one of the many top tier events that Super Smash Bros has to offer this 2017 season:

This puts the event right under S+ Tier which has only been granted to one event this year, Evo 2017. Conversely, GT-X becomes one of a handful of S-Tier events of the season, which has led some to criticize the ranking system for its lenient standards. Ultimately, it just seems like the Smash Community is coming alive in 2017 in a way it hasn't before, and while the standards may increase in the years to come, the sport may be getting a big boost in recognition it has struggled so long to obtain.
