Get A Look A Gameplay From TINY TINA’S WONDERLANDS

Gearbox Software showed up at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021 to pull back the curtain on gameplay from their upcoming Borderlands spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The trailer showcases all of the guns, enemies, and varied environments players have come to expect from the franchise.

Wonderlands is shaking up the formula a bit though by adding a ton of fantasy-inspired mechanics to the series with new weapon types and a plethora of different magic spells that can be mixed and matched to create a unique monster-smashing beast.

The trailer shows off quite a few of these new weapons and abilities, including one spell that summons elemental beasts to attack enemies on command and a hammer that can be thrown and called back like Thor’s hammer.

New enemies include skeleton knights, bone witches filled with ominous purple smoke, and trick chests that suddenly sprout teeth and try to eat players if they stray too close. There are also a few bosses shown off, like a giant skeleton that shoots out waves of blue fire and a large, green dragon that breathes fire.

In a post on PlayStation’s blog after the Showcase Matt Cox, the Creative Director at Gearbox Software, teased how players will be able to customize their characters when it launches early next year, stating that “we’ve built a multiclass system that lets you mix and match six unique character skill trees, all with their own awesome abilities.”

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was revealed earlier this year at Summer Games Fest with a teaser trailer introducing the game and its noteworthy cast. Expect to hear more details in the coming months as its March 25th, 2022 release date draws closer, and for all your gaming news stay tuned to GameTyrant.
