Indie developers Thing Trunk just released their new roguelike RPG Hellcard into Early Access on Steam. Hellcard takes place inside of the same paper-model fantasy world as Thing Trunk’s previous success, Book of Demons. In Hellcard players can descend into the paper dungeons alone, recruit computer-controlled companions, or join other players' lobbies in co-op mode for fast-paced tactical card battles against the armies of darkness and the Archdemon himself.
Hellcard allows for cooperative battles with up to three heroes, who face the Archdemon's hordes. In single-player mode, gamers can venture into the dungeons alone or recruit companions. In multiplayer mode, friends or strangers can help battle the hordes of hell with the unique circular slice area of combat system that Hellcard employs.
With its unique blend of cooperative play and rogue-like mechanics, Hellcard promises to be an exciting and challenging addition to the world of deck-builder games. The game's Early Access release on Steam offers players the chance to explore the game's world and mechanics while offering feedback to the developers.
