For our hidden gems features, we are always looking for the lost, the forgotten, the overlooked or maybe, something you just never gave a chance. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is the best hidden gem I’ve discovered in a very long time. Not because it is loved by many or didn’t get any press, it just came out at a time where it got shoved into my massive backlog and I never really gave it a chance. Well, now I can’t get enough. I can’t get enough potion-brewin’, butt-kickin’, maid lovin’, skull bashin’, hare huntin’, lockpickin’ and oh so much more.
That’s Mutt. Your trusty hound. Atta boy.
Dog praisin’, gamblin’, bandit huntin’. I can do this all f#*$^ing day. This game is absolutely chock full of so many activities, it’s almost unbelievable. The geniuses at Warhorse Studio put so much heart and soul into this game and its massive world, I constantly have to stop to gasp at the variety between dark and violent, light and humorous to downright evil. Don’t get me wrong, the first few hours are a bit janky but the more you practice fighting and exploring this world, the more addicting the game becomes.
Hooked on phonics werked for me. Yes, even reading and collecting books is a riot.
The voice acting, story, music, landscapes, and graphics are absolutely stunning at times as you can see from some of the screenshots below. It’s hard to believe that this game is already almost 7 years old. Regardless, the quality of the artists, musicians, and voice actors truly shine through.
I haven’t felt this rewarded and satisfied (sorry to my husband) with a game in very, very long time. This is just bliss, even with some of the jank.
With the sequel right around the corner, which some of our staff got to play and awarded this last PAX West, you need to get the first game ASAP. Buy it. Install it. Play it. Love it. EVERY gamer deserves to experience this incredible and wonderfully crafted game, it’s just that good. You’re welcome.
