Keeping up with a line of new products for gamers and PC users, IOGEAR and Kaliber Gaming have released a new affordable keyboard. The main question when things are listed at an affordable price is, will the quality of the product also end up with a discount quality? When it comes to their new keyboard, the HVER STEALTH, I can say that this may well be the best bang for only a few of your bucks!

What’s In The Box

They keep it real simple and straightforward. The only thing in the box is the keyboard, which is inside a light foam protective bag that is nestled between two thick styrofoam side cushions to hold it in place. Other than the keyboard itself, you will have your warranty card and a manual. That’s it!

However, if you want to utilize the full RGB customization options, then make sure to go to the keyboards store page on their website and download the software for it. You will find the button on the right side panel of the site labeled “Drivers, Firmware, & Software.”

Aesthetics and Build Quality

I absolutely love the way this keyboard was built! Most keyboards have a strong side panel or put all the beauty in the RGB settings, but they went above that with this build. They gave the keyboard a thin, but heavy base that helps hold it still while gaming, but it is just thick enough to provide a line of RGB light all the way around the keyboard. On top of this flat keyboard base are lifted keys so you can clearly see the colors underneath them while they also protrude out between the keys as you would expect any RGB keyboard to do.

Plus, the keyboard is built with removable keycaps for interchangeable options that further the amount of customization a user can do. Tie in the removable key caps with per-key RGB customization software and you can set this board up any way you wish. No matter how you do so, the brown switches will remain there to give a proper tacticle approach to your game sessions too.

What It Could Have Done Better

While the manual did instruct well enough on how to get the RGB setup started and ready for customization, they don’t really explain where to get the software to actually start customizing your setup. I did some educated guessing to find the program on the store page, but it would have been nice to have just been told where to find it. Not to mention it didn’t come with any preset RGB options, so if you don’t use the software then you won’t be able to properly enjoy all the different styles and designs the RGB lights can provide.

Verdict

HVER STEALTH is arguably the best quality for an affordable price! Right out of the box, this keyboard was immediately appealing and easy to use. Other than struggling with the RGB customizations at first, I ran into no problems with this keyboard while using it these last few days. It has definitely found a new home, plugged up to my PC, and I would recommend this $49.95 USD keyboard to anybody, be it for gaming or standard use.
