The beloved Dungeons & Dragons franchise is returning to gaming platforms again, with Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. This new game is set in third-person and will take gangs of rag-tag players to Icewind Dale, a frozen northern region of the Forgotten Realms. Gamers will be able to play as some of D&D’s most iconic characters created by R.A. Salvatore, which includes Drizzt, Cattie-brie, Bruenor, and Wulfgar. Their mission; Fight through an onslaught of the realm’s over 30 fierce creatures and recover the Crystal Shard.
The developers at Tuque Games promise an RPG with explosive combat and dynamic co-op play. This is achieved through its easy-to-pick-up controls that take time to master, its addictive gameplay loop, and the enticing selection of loot. The game’s structure is a hub-and-spoke style which allows players to choose missions at their leisure in the order in which they would like. Missions offer plenty of monsters to slay and scores of bountiful loot just waiting to be taken. Replaying missions increases their difficulty thus making their loot even all the more tantalizing. Of course, it’s always easier with friends too.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance releases June 22nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
