LIFE IS STRANGE: TRUE COLORS Will Have Players Honing Emotions

With the latest title in the Life is Strange series only just over a week away, it seemed a great time to talk about what to expect from it! Life is Strange: True Colors, created by Square Enix and Deck Nine, releases on September 10th and will introduce us to a whole new story, cast, and power set.

It’s also important to point out that this is the first game in the series that won’t have episodes that release periodically. This means that all of the game is available at launch with no downtime in order to play through it continuously.

In True Colors, you play Alex Chen during the time when she reunites after 8 years with her older brother Gabe. Not after being in this new mid-western town long, her world is turned upside-down by the sudden and mysterious death of Gabe.

This new chapter in the LiS series will give Alex a pretty unique psychic power. Using the power of Empathy, Alex will navigate this dire situation she is in by tapping into the people around her. Each character is surrounded by an aura that can become overwhelming at times, depending on the situation.

These feelings that she’ll have to navigate are sadness, fear, anger, and joy. While it sounds easy to navigate these feelings, the dev team has stated that Alex will have to wrestle with her own psyche as these powers try to consume her.

There is also a planned DLC titled, ‘Wavelengths’ and will have you play as one of Alex’s new friends, Steph “Wavelengths” Gingrich who originally debuted in Life is Strange: Before the Storm. This DLC will span four seasons and give us a better insight into the character as well as where she’s headed. ‘Wavelengths’ releases on September 30th as paid DLC.

There are multiple versions to choose from when pre-ordering LiS: True Colors. Some come with the ‘Wavelengths’ DLC and another even comes with LiS Remastered and LiS: Before the Storm Remastered which are set to release in early 2022.

Life is Strange: True Colors releases on September 10th for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC.
