San Diego Comic-Con attendees were treated to a heroic spectacle as NetEase Games and Marvel Games unveiled the latest details for their highly anticipated game, Marvel Rivals. This new Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter promises to let players assemble an all-star squad of Super Heroes and Super Villains, each wielding unique powers across a series of destructible maps from the Marvel Multiverse.
Fans got an exclusive peek into the game’s compelling narrative, set within the Marvel Universe. In Marvel Rivals, heroes and villains unite against a cosmic threat, with a newly released story trailer showcasing the rich, immersive storyline and teasing significant plot twists for players to unravel.
For those eager to dive into the action, the closed beta for Marvel Rivals is now live through August 5th across all platforms, including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, featuring full cross-play. During a special presentation for Marvel Games, it was revealed that both Thor and Jeff the Land Shark will join the Closed Beta as playable characters on July 27th. Thor, the God of Thunder, brings his powerful hammer and lightning abilities, while Jeff the Land Shark adds his unique charm and ferocity to the game.
The presentation also highlighted the game's impressive musical and voiceover talent. The music team boasts industry veterans Shota Nakama, founder of Video Games Orchestra, and legendary guitarist Godspeed. The star-studded voice cast includes Cassandra Lee Morris (Persona 5) as Galacta, Troy Baker (The Last of Us) as Loki, Nolan North (Uncharted) as Rocket Raccoon, Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man) as Spider-Man, and Mara Junot (Destiny 2) as Storm.
