After being met with some immediate success on Kickstarter, the indie development team Aurogon Shanghai close out with Afterimage crowdfunding page with over 600% of their goal raised! Their final number reached $729,949 HK, or $93,027.78 USD, which meant they reached multiple stretch goals including the ones to bring the game to console as well.
This hand-drawn, 2D-animated action-adventure game takes place in the imaginative world of Engardin. Once a magnificent realm of magical life and fantastic beasts, the land has been ravaged by the folly of human ambition and warfare. A calamitous event has ruined the land, corrupting the souls and behavior of native species and humans alike. Embark on a journey as Renee, a girl who lost her memory during the great catastrophe, as she retraces her steps to uncover past memories.
Thanks to their successful campaign, this game will receive additional gameplay areas, a boss rush stage, cutscenes with dubbing, more accessories, an additional weapon class, a new playable character, and much more. Afterimage is planned to be released in the Winter of 2022 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
