Nintendo Is Getting Into The Movie Business

Nintendo is getting into the movie business, and when I say in, I mean they are IN. Polygon writes Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima is not interested in licensing out characters (like they did with Bowser in Wreck-It Ralph) but rather partnering with studios and keeping complete control of the project. Kimishima also noted that the company would not be pursuing any live-action films.

The company is currently meeting with studios around the world to partner with, and something tells me Disney is going to land the job. The two already have a healthy relationship in film as well as in their programming (Disney Channel broadcasted the latest Nintendo World Championships) and who else are you gonna top when it comes to animated films? Then again I don't see Disney allowing Nintendo to have complete creative control over one of their films and if there's no flex in that then why would Disney bite?

All we can say for certain is that Sony will not be making the films!
