Chicken Launcher's eco-conscious farming sim No Place Like Home is out now on the Nintendo Switch, courtesy of Merge Games and Awaken Realms.
No Place Like Home sees players taking the role of Ellen, a plucky young woman who returns to Earth from a life in space to visit her grandfather's farm. On arrival, she finds her grandpa missing, and a traveling chicken informs her he has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. As if that wasn't bad enough, the planet is in very rough shape. Mountains of trash cover the land and block your way. Water sources are polluted, and everyone is pretty miserable. Fortunately, Ellen comes equipped with the tools to tackle the problem. Players can use a vacuum to suck up the offending refuse to clear a path.
Litter-picking is not all there is to do in No Place Like Home. Once cleared, the farm becomes a place to plant crops and raise animals. Animals can wear hats, and will even benefit from parties thrown for them. The trash picked up can be recycled into resources that can upgrade the farm.
No Place Like Home is available to buy now on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. PlayStation and Xbox versions are currently in the works, too.
