Platforms And Demo Announced For DESOLATIUM

SOEDESCO previously announced and completed its acquisition of developer, Superlumen. Ever since, the developer and publisher combo has been creating a first-person point-and-click adventure called Desolatium, which is heavily inspired by Lovecraftian horror. H.P. Lovecraft has created an enthralling mythos and it’s great to see his lore utilized even more in the gaming space.

This game is graphic and provides a first-person view to truly experience all of the horrors that the game throws the player’s way. The story is told through the view of four distinct playable characters. This quartet of protagonists are all investigating the mysterious disappearance of a friend. Along this investigation, the player will come across creatures and elements from Lovecraft’s beloved universe which should be exciting for fans of the mythos.

The art is in a comic book style and provides a unique perspective on horror and point-and-click games. This lays the groundwork for vivid, comic book environments, all based on real locations and explorable in 360 degrees. The developers went for ambisonics when creating the audio. This means that the sound is even more immersive and feels like it is coming from all around the player. Lovecraft stories usually don’t end without someone going insane and with immersion being the focus, it looks like that may still be the case. Is it possible to get through this story alive and untainted?

Desolatium will be available sometime in the future on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam with an active Steam demo currently available.
