Capcom’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, still holds the title as one of the best releases for VR this year despite being out in the market for nine months. It has been quite sometime since Capcom mentioned anything about Resident Evil and finally, after months of silence, the company announced some pretty exciting expansions for the game.
First, A Gold Edition of Resident Evil 7 will be released in Japan on December 24 and will include both volumes of the previously released Banned Footage, plus other add-on content packs. It will also include the long-awaited expansion Not A Hero, and the newly announced End of Zoe. Not to worry for fans who already own the standard edition, as both Not A Hero and End of Zoe will also be available separately on December 12.
If you haven’t played Resident Evil 7 yet, you may want to stop reading as there will be spoilers ahead. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Fans of the game have been waiting for the Not A Hero DLC for some time now as it was originally slated to be released by spring earlier this year. A lot were shocked with the cameo appearance by one of Resident Evil’s original characters, Chris Redfield, at the end of the game. This expansion is expected to explore his involvement and possibly create a connection between Resident Evil 7 and the canon story of the older games in the series. The DLC is free for those who already own a copy of the game.
“Join Resident Evil mainstay Chris Redfield as he battles his way through the horrors that lurk underneath the Baker’s mansion, fully prepared with new weapons and equipment designed to counter bio organic threats and navigate the maze-like caverns beneath the Baker mansion.” Capcom-Unity teased. “Encounters with deadly foes lurk around every corner – including a new type of enemy.”
In the expansion End of Zoe, players will get to know more about the fate of the Baker’s daughter after the events of the game.
If you have enjoyed playing Resident Evil 7 in VR, then you have nothing to worry about as both expansions fully support PSVR to ensure that players will be immersed as they return once again to the Baker’s Mansion. Check out some cool screenshots below.
As excited as I am on all these goodies coming soon, still, I can’t shake off one question in my mind, where is Resident Evil 2 Remake?
