Rodent Adventure CURSE OF THE SEA RATS Confirmed Physical Release

Upcoming rodent-themed Metroidvania Curse of the Sea Rats will be getting a physical release in early 2023. The game, developed by Petoons Studio and published by PQube, follows the adventures of a variety of swashbuckling rats as they leap and fight their way along the Irish coast. The adventure brings the heroes up against Captain Flora Burn’s crew of pillaging rodents; Pirats, if you will.

Curse of The Sea Rats benefits from hand-drawn art, with 2D animated characters set against detailed 3D environments, traditionally-animated characters giving the whole thing a nostalgic, Don Bluth feel.

Players will be able to choose from four different characters: American soldier David Douglas, Cheyenne warrior Buffalo Calf, Barbadian fugitive Bussa, and onna-bugeisha Akane Yawagama. All of them have been turned into rats, but it doesn’t mean they haven’t retained their unique skills and talents. The game is set to include local co-op, numerous side-quests, and multiple endings to discover, so there’s a lot to get stuck into.

The physical release of Curse of the Sea Rats will be available for the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Playstation 5 sometime in early 2023. Digital copies will be available for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam
