In typical Saints fashion, the reveal that a new demo for Deep Silver and Volition’s Saints Row was dropping the same day came during Day 1 of this year’s Summer Games Fest. Available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (Epic Games Store), “Boss Factory” is a playable demo in which players gearing up for the game’s full release can make their signature boss character ahead of time.
The demo is available now for free and offers a vast array of different customization options from the character’s body modifications, clothing, tattoos, piercings, and even personality. Testing it myself, there are definitely way more options than there have ever been in a Saints title and players could easily spend hours crafting various characters.
Boss Factory Designed Character
It was a pleasant surprise to see that this time around, there is no gender option that has to be chosen when creating your character. Everything is at players’ disposal so that they can truly craft a boss in the way that they want with no limitations. Whether that’d be a full representation of oneself in their truest form or simply a caricature of a hockey player with broken death and bruises, there are no limits to creativity.
Saving one or many bosses also makes them available for players to then use as soon as the game is released. Once finished, players can sign up and share their designs to the gallery for other players to see which also grants them access to the exclusive Marshall Rocket Launcher at launch.
Saints Row launches on August 23, 2022, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Epic Games Store).
