One of the coolest reveals during yesterday’s Summer Game Fest event was the gameplay trailer for Inflexion Games and Level Infinite’s title, Nightingale. The trailer showed off more of this shared-world survival crafting game’s environments as well as its realm-hopping card system.
With these newly unveiled “Realm Cards”, players are able to traverse new biomes and locations just by crafting them with the resources scavenged from throughout the realms they encounter. Each card includes its own attributes that will impact the location that players will summon. This includes environmental type, weather, resources, challenges, and even enemies.
The trailer also gave a closer look at its core survival mechanics such as crafting, base-building, and some combat. A new adversary type shown off during the trailer, Automations, is a new calculating Fae enemy that players will come toe to toe with eventually as they venture through the realms.
Nightingale is set to release in Early Access on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) in 2022 with a closed beat beginning in the coming months. Players interested in pre-registering for the beta can do so right here!
