Aren’t we getting tired of seeing just a different story plastered over some dark, grungy depths that we are supposed to explore for valuables while fighting off some kind of set of creatures? Sure, we have been seeing a few games brighten up the tone of the genre, but we continue to get a top-down few of some dark, dungeon-crawling action. Developers Aggro Crab Games have teamed up with publishers Team17 to break the usual and bring a funny, slightly-different take on the dungeon-crawler genre in Going Under.
While they are keeping the main aspects of this genre alive, such as procederally-generated rooms, the story and setting are nothing short of wacky. After joining the tech giant company Cubicle, players take on the role of marketing intern, Jackie Fiasco, as she hacks and slashes at the monstrous employees and CEOs of cursed tech start-ups.
Going Under is planned to launch during Q3 of 2020 on all major platforms. Before the year ends we will see this silly action title on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Check out the announcement trailer to see just what is about to hit the stores:
