Asmodee Digital has announced the release of Scythe: Digital Edition on iOS, iPadOS, and Android.
What’s even better about the news is the confirmed cross-platform play that’s enabled between these new versions of the digital game and the existing versions on PC (Steam and GOG) and Mac computers.
Scythe, from designer Jamey Stegmaier of Stonemaier Games, originally launched back in 2016, to much acclaim, and the digital adaptation followed two years later in 2018. Now, though, that 2018 PC release has been redesigned to work with touchscreens on mobile devices.
Once again, the best part is the cross-play for gamers who already own the game and new players who will join on the mobile platforms. This will make it much easier to start and maintain games of Scythe with friends and strangers.
The mobile edition was developed by Knights of Unity, and it continues the high-production-value that the tabletop game and original digital adaptation both possessed. I’m excited to jump into a game with my gaming group as soon as possible. We’ve got a mix of iOS and Android devices within the group, so this is the announcement we’ve been waiting for!
The game is available now on the App Store for $9.99 and Google Play for $8.99.
