Terror In Scandinavia With VAESEN RPG Releasing At The End Of The Month

Another roleplaying adventure is coming from Free League Publishing, creators of the ALIEN roleplaying game that we reviewed earlier this year.

Vaesen – Nordic Horror Roleplaying releases on July 28th. Similar to the connection between the Tales From the Loop RPG and the artwork of Simon Stålenhag, the Vaesen RPG is based on the works of illustrator and author Johan Egerkrans. It reveals a world of Gothic folklore horror with a unique Nordic twist.

While the full release isn’t until later this month, you can already pre-order the core rulebook, a GM Screen, a map, a card pack, and a set of custom dice from the Free League webshop. If you pre-order the game, you’ll get early access to the full PDF of the game.

Nils Hintze, the author of the Tales From the Loop RPG, helped to bring the dark Gothic setting to life. And the gameplay will be familiar to any player who has used the Year Zero Engine from Free League Publishing.
