In a surprise announcement, Gearbox and 2K revealed that the critically acclaimed Borderlands 2 DLC, Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep, is now its own standalone title. This rerelease, now titled Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot, comes out just a few months ahead of Gearbox’s next big game in the Borderlands franchise: Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
The DLC stars the titular Tiny Tina as the Game Master of a one-shot adventure in the world of Bunkers & Badasses, a tabletop game not unlike the real world’s Dungeons & Dragons. The DLC centered around Tina’s inability to comprehend the death of Roland, a playable Vault Hunter in the first game and a major NPC in the second.
Many of the series’ iconic characters are featured in the DLC in some way, and the add-on’s humor, heart, and changes to the series’ gameplay were well-received by both fans and critics at the time of its release. The rerelease adds some new cosmetic heads and loot opportunities to the already solid original game.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands looks to build on this premise, setting Tina up as the Game Master for a much longer adventure that will see new characters embark on a quest to stop the Dragon Lord from destroying the Wonderlands. Wonderlands will feature all-new weapons, armor, appearances, and, in a series’ first, magic and customizable classes.
Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot is available now for $9.99USD on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, and it’s currently free until November 16th on the Epic Games Store.
