Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. just announced the upcoming monster training simulation game Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher. The game will be a mashup of Ultraman and Monster Rancher, a lesser-known title outside of Japan, but well-loved game series with a dedicated cult following that lets players collect unique monsters and train them for competition. Ultraman will always have this special place in my memories as these cheesy giant superhero movies that I used to watch as a kid since my family owned 3 or 4 of them.
To this day I still remember the one with the weird glowing red ball from one of them and the giant silver and red heroes who fought the big bad monsters. For many others, the Ultraman series is much more well-known and news of a new game where you can train the Kaiju monsters will be well-received.
In-game players will be able to breed, befriend, and train Ultra Kaiju for competitions and minigames. There will be more than 200 different types of Kaiju in the game, as well as combination variations of Kaiju, and the ability to generate Kaiju with keywords. In addition to the inclusion of Ultra Kaiju which is absent from previous Monster Rancher games, in Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher the player will be able to stage grand fights of monstrous proportions like the classic battles from Ultraman.
Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher will launch in North and South America on Nintendo Switch on October 20, 2022, as a digital download.
