While the teams over at Action Fiction and Fable Factory are still preparing to launch their Kickstarter page for their upcoming near-future Sci-Fi tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) Cthulhu Dreamt, they have started a unique alternate reality game (ARG) for their interested players. Those interested in participating in the ARG, which will run through the duration of the title’s Kickstarter campaign, can join in on their official Discord today!
The channel’s use is two-fold. First, a selection of folks who’re able to solve the ARG puzzle will win rewards for the new TTRPG. Second, it is the home base for the following aspects:
A place for parties to communicate as part of the in-game interactions and campaign
A place where some game prompts will originate
A place where non-game information will be posted for preview and as sharing

As for Cthulhu Dreamt, it is a multimedia storytelling experience, taking shape as a tabletop role-playing game, a soundtrack, a novel, and more! This game is built on an original D12 system and it includes a fully playable campaign and the game rules in one book, including 10 playable specializations and dozens of fully realized horrifyingly original creatures. This game expands on the mythos of Cthulhu while bringing it into an unsettling sci-fi future.
The premise of the game is as follows: You've awoken from a dead sleep, only to find that the ancient being discovered by scientists 5 years ago seems to have finally awoken from his own dream, and now intends to make your reality a waking nightmare. Play a group of people who awaken from a shared dream, and are called upon by a secret government agency to rescue one of their top scientists. On your journey across the globe, you will fend off the rising tide of cosmic effects and otherworldly organisms from consuming the planet… and humanity along with it.
