After taking time off for the holidays, Paradox Interactive is back with plenty of new announcements and updates on games. Their hit role-playing grand strategy game Crusader Kings III is no exception. With their newest dev diary, they hint at a large DLC later in the year, as well as calling on fans to vote for the next event pack! The poll is open here and will be running until Jan 27th.
The options all aim to deepen certain segments of relationships between the character in the game, and each has its own focus:
Wards & Wardens add to childhood-related themes, such as playing a child, being a guardian, handling children in court, and diving deeper into what it meant to be a child in the middle ages.
Love & Lust will explore more intimate relationships, expanding upon the seduction and romance mechanics, as well as adding to married life. This would really add to the role of lovers and spouses in-game.
Villians & Vagabonds would add more events and content around Dread and Tyranny, really diving into what it means to be feared, utilizing that reputation, making it more visible, and the consequences or opportunities that may arise. It will also explore the other side of dread, namely fairness and honor.
While this event pack is still far out, the decision will allow the team to start working on the event pack as soon as the next expansion is out. If the voting activity turns out to be popular, they might do it again in the future and bring back the themes that do not get chosen this time to face off against new challengers.
Make sure to make your voice heard by voting here, and let us know your thoughts in the comments! Crusader Kings III is out now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
