Ben Tennyson is back for another alien adventure in Ben 10: Power Trip! The first gameplay trailer is here and delivers a beautiful cartoon world to explore! The game is developed by PHL Collective, who is familiar with the Ben 10 universe. This is their second foray into the series as just earlier this year they released Ben 10: Omni-Charged, which was a multiplayer based VR game.
The story starts while Ben and his family are on vacation in Europe. During an outing, they come across the evil mastermind Hex. His plan is to take over the world using four crystals and it’s Ben’s job to stop him. You’ll get to play as all of Ben and his iconic alien transformations each with their own set of powers and abilities.
The game is set in an open world which should offer a fun adventure! The trailer shows off just some of the alien abilities and how they interact with the world. I'm extremely interested in seeing more of the world that the game is set in. Not too many games developed for kids in mind go the open-world route for some reason. The Lego games are most known for having them, so it's a good thing to see other games doing it too.
The game also offers couch co-op is as well. When playing in co-op player two takes control over Ben's rival, Kevin Levin. The developers even brought Kevin’s own aliens to life here. It’s truly impressive how much attention to the source material that’s already being put on display. I’m so glad that couch co-op is being implemented as this is important to a lot of gamers, myself included.
The game is set to come out on October 9th and will be playable on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch!
