A few weeks ago, the mobile version of the popular battle royale game, Fortnite, became available to players who were able to sign up and receive an invitation from Epic Games. In case you missed out the invitation, you no longer have to wait as Fortnite is now available to anyone with a compatible iOS device.
Before you jump into the App Store to download the game, make sure that your iOS device is capable of running Fortnite. The game will require a steady internet connection and your device should be running iOS 11. Currently, these are the only devices that can run the game: iPhone SE, 6S, 7, 8 and X, and iPad Mini 4, Air 2, 2017, and Pro models.
For players who are already playing Fortnite on the PC and consoles, you can log into your Epic Games account, and your progress will be shared across all platforms and will include access to any vanity items you may have unlocked. Furthermore, Fortnite for the iOS supports cross-play with other platforms so yes, you can play the game with your friends on the PC even when you’re in mobile.
As of now, Fortnite is only available on iOS devices. However, Epic Games promised players that an Android version of the game is in development.
In case you’re wondering what other battle royale games are available on mobile, Fortnite’s biggest rival, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds had already released a free-to-play mobile version of their game last month. However, unlike Fortnite, PUBG Mobile does not support cross-play with PC and consoles. However, iOS and Android players can party up in the game.
