GHOSTBUSTERS WORLD Is Coming To Mobile Soon

Ghostbusters World, is an all-new state-of-the-art augmented reality game currently in development. The game features the latest in AR and other mobile technologies and differentiates itself with skill-based gameplay and numerous other exciting features yet to be announced.

A new mobile game based on the hit movie series Ghostbusters has been announced. The game will take a similar form to the popular mobile app, Pokémon Go, using Augmented Reality (AR). Ghostbusters World will allow players to capture ghosts using their smartphones. 

The upcoming mobile game will be a "state-of-the-art" augmented reality title that will allow players to battle and capture ghosts from the entire Ghostbusters universe including the comic series, movie series, TV shows, park attractions, and other video game adaptations. Explaining the compatibility of the franchise as a mobile game, the director and producer of the original Ghostbusters movie said that: 

“The Ghostbusters Universe is rich in characters and Ghostbusters World is the perfect medium to get to know these characters in a whole new dimension,” said Ivan Reitman in a press release. 

Ghostbusters World will be developed by NextAge, in partnership with FourThirtyThree Inc (4:33), Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Ghost Corps. A demo is currently available at the Google Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Spain. In a press release, Jamie Stevens, an executive from Sony Pictures Entertainment said that:

“Ghostbusters is a legacy brand and we are excited to work with 4:33 to expand the Ghostbusters Universe into an AR mobile game. Ghostbusters is the perfect brand and best content to utilize AR technology.”

The game is heading to both Android and iOS devices this year. However, Sony has not revealed the specific release date and pricing, though it has been announced that further details will come to light during next month’s Game Developer Conference.
